Craftsmanship

When framing our fine art prints, the framer always works from the artwork itself. To ensure long-lasting quality, expert craftsmanship is required, with deep knowledge of techniques, paper, mount board, glass, and frame.

All paper and board used in the framing process is acid-free, meaning a neutral or slightly alkaline pH value. This applies to all materials, including the mat board and backing board.
In addition to its aesthetic function, the mat board protects the artwork from direct contact with the glass.

The glass used for our fine art prints is Art Glass, a premium glass that reproduces details and colours exceptionally well. It is anti-reflective, making the glass almost invisible from certain angles, and provides 70% UV protection.

The frame is carefully sealed using professional tape to prevent dust from entering the framing.

Framing studio:
Frameland AB, Barnhusgatan 8, Stockholm.

About the Artwork

The artwork and motif are inspired by Sissinghurst Castle Garden in England. The garden was created in the 1930s by the writer Vita Sackville-West and her husband Harold Nicolson, and consists of a series of distinct “garden rooms,” each with its own character. One of the most famous is the White Garden, composed of white-flowering plants and lush greenery.

The piece is part of a series of photographs taken during travels in 2011–2012, when Helena carried her Olympus Pen 1 camera through France, England, Italy, Marrakech, and Sweden. From these photographs, she created patterns to enhance the enchanting landscapes and light.

By transforming the photographs into patterns, Helena explored new ways of working with the many landscape images she brought home from her travels. While the landscapes were beautiful, the photographs initially felt static. By viewing the images as components rather than finished scenes, she was able to break them apart and reconstruct them into something abstract.
Abstract landscape patterns emerged, revealing new structures within each image. The landscapes lost their geographical boundaries and their direct connection to the places where they were photographed.

“Could it be that landscapes are something abstract, without nationality?
Perhaps they are simply different systems and patterns that we, as humans, cannot fully define.”

Several of these patterned landscape works were exhibited under the title “See the Landscape and Feel the Scale”, shown in 2015 at Karbygård, Täby.
